About Us

Barbara Lentz, affectionately known to her friends and customers as Babs, opened the doors to Art-Sea Living in June 2003.

Although she started an artistic career making jewelry and painting furniture, this Miami, Florida native has been an entrepreneur all of her life.  At 12 years old, when her father wanted to sell a jalopy for $500, Barb sold it for $700 and he gave her $200.

She married her best friend and they had three beautiful children.  While a stay-at-home mother, Barb began embellishing and designing her line of children’s clothing.  Her friends and family loved them so much that they began to buy their own children’s clothes from Barb.

This eventually led Barb to designing high-end clothing for Arts & Crafts Shows and Boutiques in Miami.  She designed shoes, clothes, purses, and tie dye items.

Later she designed jewelry and held successful jewelry parties; so successful that several boutiques wanted to carry her jewelry line.  This is when Barb thought to herself “why don’t I just open my own shop?” and Art-Sea Living was born.

Inspired by beautiful things, she would rather purchase handmade items for the shop, especially if they were created by fellow artists, women in business, and stay-at-home or single moms.

Barb identifies with other artists’ struggles and believes that children should be free to do art how they want to do it.  She relates to her customers’ wants and needs.  This free-spirited artist loves talking to and getting to know all of her customers.

Even though she has a playful manner, Barb takes her business seriously.  On any given weekend, one can find her sitting by the pool with her kids devouring a book on business, planning a marketing event or designing Art-Sea Living’s next ad campaign.

She loves the Art of Business and the Business of Art.  If she wasn’t doing this for a living, she would do it for fun because it’s her passion.   Her motto is: “Fulfill a Dream and be Happy.”
